Hello Snom Community,

We recently purchased a handful of the D865 to replace our old 720s.

After going through the setup and getting the phones into a working order we found that our directory which has members flagged as VIP is using the default ringtone.

Under Preferences → Audio → Directory Ringtones → VIP we have it set to ringtone 5
We've also changed the default ringtone from Ringtone 1 to Ringtone 9 on the D865. All calls the ring in regardless of if they're in the directory or not are ringing as Ringtone 9.
In addition to this all entries into the Directory when receiving a call from a directory number it comes up as "Wireless Caller" and not the entry in the directory.

These two things lead us to believe there is some error with the directory that is making it not function as it has on previous versions of SNOM phones.
Previously on older SNOM phones making an entry in the directory would making any inbound call from that number display as the directory entry. Adding a group to that entry and assigning a ringtone to the group would apply a different ringtone to all of those entries.

I've looked through the XML file and am unable to find anywhere that would control this outside of the base WUI settings.


We're looking to have directory entries be used for the inbound caller ID and assign a ringtone to the directory entries.

Would anyone have any suggestions or solutions to this problem?

    The SNOM D865 is brand new and also has completely newly developed software on it.

    Many functions are now different from the old software. The software is also not yet fully developed.

    I would suggest trying a D815w - it is identical in construction but without a swivel display. It also runs on the "old" familiar software. I have already supplied many of my customers with this device and have not received any complaints so far.

      Unfortunately making an additional purchase is outside the scope of our contract.

      I appreciate letting us know about it being new software.

    Das SNOM D865 ist brandneu (ist schon 3 Jahre alt und kann noch immer nicht gehen!

    und verfügt zudem über eine komplett neu verwickelte Software
    mit tausenden Problemen und Beschwerden!
    Eine total Fehlerbehaftete Firmware wird als Verbesserung dargestellt, dann min. 3 Monate Pause und keine Reaktionen!?


    Connect Professional hat dafür das Gütesiegel "sehr gut " vergeben!
    Ist das was schief gelaufen oder wurde das von Snom nur geträumt? Es kann nur Optisch bewertet worden sein!
