As reseller of VoIP solutions, I got the following question: Can you provide us with a solution to connect SONOS speakers with our VoIP (cloud) system, so we can make an announcement with a (cordless)Phone on site to these speakers. It would be nice if we could use existing equipment. This are: VoIP phones (Yealink/Gigaset) and SONOS PlayOne speakers (4) with Boost.

If it is needed to buy for example a extra switch or amplifier (SONOS?) it is nice to know. Hopefully there is someone with experience in this.

If the Boost kan be configured at a LAN output and provide speakers with sound and announcement this would be the best solution.

THANKS in advance!

    Hi,

If you are a Snom reseller you can raise private tickets on our Helpdesk just FYI, if you don't have access please contact your Snom sales representative and they can help.

About this, the PA1+ has a specific audio output which is 6.5W and 600 Ohms as in the datasheet

    https://www.snom.com/en/products/public-announcement/snom-pa1-plus/#Downloads

So ideally if the Sonos speaker can accept that as an input via the audio cable, it could be used connected with the PA1+ so that if you register our device it can be called via VoIP and can play the voice or ringtone on the speaker.

We do not have any interoperability test done with any external speaker for the PA1+ so we can't help here to make sure the current speakers you have installed will work I am afraid, some testing or amplifier in the middle may be required.

    Thank you

    Hi Gianmaria Tononi,

Thanks for the quick reply! I tried to get in touch with SNOM and via my distributor, but it's not that easy. this is why I used this forum.

Can you tell me if I can use only 1 speaker of 4/6/8 Ohms on a single PA1+? In that case I could make a configuration with 4 PA1 devices in the network and use maybe other speaker. I can configure each SNOM device as a internal phone and make it a group for internal calling. In this case my problem is also solved.

The problem is, that in the building there are few LAN connections, but no speaker wiring. So this is a alternative! Hope you can answer this. In the manual is stated: 6,5w 600Ohm. I don't want the case in which with only one speaker connected the amplifier of the SNOM device becomes to hot or something like that. Hope to hear from you. THNX

    Hi,

Not a problem, it was just to get you a proper partner account as it's easier for us to ask for files and so on in a ticket.

The PA1+ can only connect to a single speaker or to an external amplifier, with multiple speakers connected to that amplifier if needed: the audio output you need to use on the PA1+ can be seen in the pictures in the page below, it's the one called "Speaker"

    https://www.snom.com/en/products/public-announcement/snom-pa1-plus/

Each PA1+ can be configured exactly as a Snom SIP phone so of course they can stay into a call group, but if you make a call to 4 devices as you would to 4 phones for example, only one can actually pick up the call.

My suggestion here would be a multicast stream to make sure you can communicate with all the PA1+ devices at the same time if you want to make announcements on more than one speaker

About the speaker and the output/input we cannot guarantee any speaker as I said, I am not an audio expert at all and I can only state that those are the outputs on the PA1+, I am not sure with which speakers it will work.

    Thank you
