Hi there, the new PA1+ now has a 600ohm 6.5W speaker output. The vast majority of speakers available on the market are either 4 or 8ohms. Will damage occur by connecting an 8ohm speaker to this output? Would this even work?
the 600 ohm impedance is only set for devices sold in the US and can be reached by setting a jumper. For default the device is delivered with 8 ohm impedance.
Thanks for your reply Erhard and confirming that. It's a bit confusing as the EN_UK_INTL datasheet and the Wiki both state "Impedance 600 Ω" so it is assumed this is how it's delivered. Maybe while awaiting publication of a full user guide for the PA1+ an amendment or KB article can be made to clarify for those of us outside of the US?
