Currently, a normal provision of new D120 phones is impossible with the versions mentioned. Only via detours, which will certainly have to be repeated manually in future updates.
Hi, I don't think D120 will be updated on 3CX in the near future. Firmware 10.1.54.24 has been published due to a hardware revision for D120 and the new hardware needs new drivers to work. Other than that, no changes have been made so you can use the same template.
On 3cx you can enable the option "Allow alternative firmware (i.e. localized/3rd party firmware other default 3CX supported firmware)" to use 10.1.54.24
3CX says it never received from Snom the firmware version 10.1.54.24 and the provisioning with V18 (update 6) fails displaying error: "Firmware version non supported". 3CX says Snom needs to send them the new template/new firmware. Is this actually the case?
For now I have configured the phone manually but we should setup more D120 phones and we would need to configure them through provisioning.
Are there any other options at the moment? I also tried the workaround of enabling the use of alternate firmware but just the flag has no effect. Is there anything else that can be done?
there is no plan to update the D120 with 3CX in the near future. You have to check, on 3CX, the option "Allow alternative firmware (i.e. localized/3rd party firmware other default 3CX supported firmware)". With this option active the PBX will not include the firmware push in the template. All other template parameters are unchanged. On the 3cx interface you will see the red message that the phone is running uncertified firmware, but it will still work.
Phone it's working but only setting up manually. No phonebook, no Italian language etc..
I bought these phones precisely because they were certified by 3cx but if precisely for this model there is no support I will consider making a return and switching brands.
Hi, the provisioning process does not change, also enabling the alternative firmware option. Do you have added the phone mac address into the 3CX? Or the 3CX see the phone if both are in the same network?
I think the better thing to do for you is open a helpdesk ticket (https://helpdesk.snom.com) so we can check the phone logs.
