Starting with firmware 500.1, the push-to-talk functionality is available on our handsets M65, M70, M80, M85 and M90. It allows the handset to be used like a handheld transceiver (walkie-talkie) between handsets registered at the same base station or in the same multicell system. The function must be enabled on each handset, and the handset must be idle to transmit or received push-to-talk calls. Only one person can speak at a time.
In the default setting, the feature is off. It must be enabled for each handset individually, either on each individual handset or on the base station web interface.

Using the function
To initiate a call to all handsets in the system that have enabled the push-to-talk function, the handset must be idle. Only idle handsets will receive the call on speakerphone, and only one person at a time will be able to talk.
When the push-to-talk feature is enabled on one handset on a system of base stations, only six calls can be ongoing at the same time from any base station which has the handset connected. |
